If you saw my previous Christmas inspo post, you already know that my theme this year is metallic tones (bronze, gold and champagne) with black accents. I had already purchased two sets of these ornaments and these pretty textured ornaments as accents. I’ve been wanting to try out the Rub ‘N Buff DIY trend, so I thought it would be perfect to DIY some metallic Christmas ornaments to go with my theme.

I had some old red Christmas ornaments that I up-cycled for this project, so you can use anything you have or buy some clear ones to transform. All you need is some black spray paint to use as your base for the ornament. Once dry, use a foam brush to stipple on the Rub ‘N Buff color of your choosing (see below for a comparison). Check out my Instagram reels if you need a visual. Just note that the Rub ‘N Buff does dry quickly. I bought a pack that came with 5 different colors, so I tried each one out below. Which color is your favorite?
Colors from left to right: Gold Leaf; Autumn Gold; Antique Gold; European Gold; and Grecian Gold.
