Do you ever smell something and it makes you have deja vu, taking you back to a moment in time? Certain perfumes will do that for me. If I get a whiff of Bath & Body Works’ “Sweet Pea”, I’m taken back to my tween years. Ralph Lauren’s “Romance” will have me reminiscing over a particular time during my teenage years. It’s pretty amazing how certain scents can trigger some pretty specific memories.
Today, I’m rounding up a few of my favorite scents, some that are tried and true, and some that are new.
These two Jo Malone scents are newish to me, purchased within the last couple years, and I really do love them. What I like about Jo Malone perfumes is that they’re unique, both in the scent mixture (who would have thought to mix Wood Sage & Sea Salt ?) and the fact that not everyone you know owns the same perfume. The “Peony & Blush Suede” is also unique and beautiful, with notes of red apple, peony and suede. If you’ve never tried Jo Malone, I highly encourage you to check out her counter at your nearest Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s.
Now let’s talk Chanel, my tried and true. These two will always be some of my all-time favorites, but if I had to choose between the two, Chance would be my first love (as you can tell by the near-empty bottle). I don’t even remember how long I’ve been wearing this perfume, but I’d say at least since the age of 16. Chance was also my perfume of choice on my wedding day, so it will always be a classic in my book.
Next up is Coco Mademoiselle, which I think is safe to say is a cult favorite. It’s feminine and exquisite.
Last, but definitely not least, is Chloe, which came on the scene for me during the last few years. It has a light, feminine scent to it, which is nice because it’s not overwhelming (good for office-wear!).
I’d love to hear about some of your favorite scents, especially your tried and trues!
Thanks for stopping by!
