Over Memorial Day weekend we decided to do a quick trip to San Diego
to take A to Sea World. We set out on Saturday morning and made several stops along the way. Our first stop was in Balboa Island for some breakfast at Wilma’s Patio followed by a frozen banana from Sugar ‘n Spice.
Our next stop was Pannikin Coffee & Tea (which you may have seen on my Instagram). It’s a super cute coffee shop located in the historic Santa Fe Railroad Station.
Chitchatting with my buddy.
Our final stop before we made it to our hotel was Hotel del Coronado. Believe it or not, this was the first time I’ve visited this iconic hotel. We toured the grounds and had an early dinner at the hotel’s Sheerwater (which, to be honest, was “meh”).
Gorgeous chandelier in the hotel lobby
By the time we finally made it to our hotel Saturday night, we were so exhausted from all the driving and stops along the way.
Love the tile wall in our hotel bathroom
We spent all day Sunday at Sea World. It was fun, but exhausting with a 1-year-old! Tip: their dine all day pass is a pretty good deal. You basically get to choose 1 entree, a side or dessert and 1 drink every hour from among 4 restaurants. At one point I felt like we came to Sea World to basically buffet all day, but at least we got our money’s worth 🙂
Before our drive back home on Monday, we did a quick stop at Balboa Park. There are so many beautiful buildings there, and so much to do, that you can probably spend an entire day there.
