With Christmas creeping up on us next week (crazy, right?!), I thought I’d do a short post on Christmas traditions. This really is my favorite time of year as Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. There’s just this special “feeling” in the air. Every year, I look forward to the start of the holiday season, which, in my mind, is when Starbucks releases its red cups (November 1st of every year… obsessed much?). I swear I get so giddy when I spot the first red cup, it’s so Barney of me. And then of course there’s the mall decorations and the non-stop Christmas music playing on Kost. I just love it!
When my husband and I got married, we started a tradition of making our own Christmas ornament from a slice of our Christmas tree trunk. I love this idea because it’s sentimental and you get to save a piece of your tree every year.
This year, we found a naturally formed heart right in the middle of our ornament from the tree’s sap. How cool is that?!
Another tradition we’ve started is to get all of our immediate family members a set of PJs every year. So all the guys get the same PJs and same with the girls. We make everyone open the PJs first and put them on so that we’re all matchy matchy as we open our gifts and take cheesy pictures (I know, this post keeps getting cheesier and cheesier, sorry).
Finally, there are two movies I must absolutely watch every Christmas season: Home Alone (one) and Love Actually. Christmas just isn’t the same without them!
What are some of your Christmas traditions?
Thank you for reading!! 🙂
