I previously shared the DIY project I made for my husband for our one-year anniversary. This year, I decided to forego the DIY ordeal since my husband ended up having to help me make his own gift last year. The second wedding anniversary is traditionally celebrated with cotton, and I wanted to get him something more personal than a pillow. So I scoured Etsy and came across the shop of HouseofWhatNot. She sells these adorable vintage maps printed on cotton twill and framed in a wooden hoop. She then hand embroiders a symbol to highlight a location on the map, and can also embroider your initials. I decided to get a map highlighting the place where my husband and I first met. It came out perfect and we ended up including it as part of our (work-in-progress) gallery wall. I highly recommend her shop if you’re in the market for something of this nature.
On a related note, my husband and I decided to take this photo every year on our anniversary (thanks Pinterest)! And p.s., we’re NOT wearing the same outfits, although now I feel like we’ll have to wear white every year…
