If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I recently read Paris Street Style during a quick work trip. It’s a good read, and overall the theme of the book is that Paris street fashion is effortlessly chic, while us Americans are overly done 🙂
The book talks about 8 essential items that everyone should own:
- Trench Coat
- Boots
- Tropeziennes (sandals)
- White/black Shirts
- V-Neck Cashmere Sweaters
- Chinos
- Pea Coat
- Short Leather Jacket
Here are some of my “essential” picks:
Trench Coat
Burberry Long Cotton Gabardine Trench Coat
J. Crew Factory Belted Trench Coat
Boots
Stuart Weitzman Pentagon Boot
Tory Burch Kiernan Riding Boot {I have these and LOVE them}
Tropeziennes
Vince Camuto Thong Sandals
J. Crew Maren Cross-Strap Sandals
White/Black Shirts
J. Crew Thomas Mason Boy Shirt
V-Neck Cashmere Sweater
Chinos

i have been wanting to read that for so long, i might have to pick it up!
i actually think that whole premise of parisians being effortless and us trying so hard applies to all of europe, they are just perfect in their imperfection whereas we make sure that every little thing is in place. i wish we were more like them!

I hear ya. If I tried to look effortless, I'd just look plain sloppy. Sigh…
